Information EarShift may process

  • Information you voluntarily send to the EarShift contact address, such as your email address and message.
  • Essential hosting and security information, such as request time, requested URL, approximate network address, browser user agent, and error or security events generated by infrastructure providers.
  • Essential cookies or browser storage required to operate a service you choose to use. EarShift does not use advertising cookies.
  • If you separately join the EarShift Voice Recording Study, the data described in the study-specific notice at record.earshift.app/privacy.

Purposes and lawful bases

EarShift processes contact messages to respond to your request and operates limited security records where necessary for the legitimate interests of maintaining a secure, reliable service. Where a service asks for consent, including the Voice Recording Study, that consent is the primary lawful basis for the uses described at the point of collection.

Sharing and service providers

EarShift does not sell personal data. Vercel may process limited data to host and protect the website. Supabase may process data for services that use its private database, authentication, and object storage. Prolific processes recruitment, study-link, communication, completion, and payment data for the Voice Recording Study. Publicly selected study clips may also be processed by the publication platform described in the study-specific notice.

Retention and security

Contact correspondence is retained only while needed to respond and resolve the matter, normally no longer than 12 months unless a longer period is required for an active dispute or legal obligation. Essential provider security logs follow the provider's documented retention. Voice-study retention is governed by its separate notice and never silently becomes indefinite.

EarShift uses HTTPS, private storage for non-public content, least-privilege access, short-lived signed audio access, pseudonymous identifiers, and multi-factor authentication for administrative access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Analytics, advertising, and automated inference

The EarShift Voice Recorder does not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, fingerprinting, or session replay. EarShift does not use study recordings for voice cloning, biometric identification, generative voice-model training, or automatic sensitive-trait inference.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent for future processing, restriction, or information about how your data is used. Contact earshift@earshift.app. You may also have the right to complain to an applicable data-protection authority.

Changes

Material changes will be published here with a new effective date. Material changes to a consented study will use a new version and will apply prospectively unless renewed consent is obtained.
